How traditional braces work
Traditional braces are made of high-quality stainless steel or titanium. They consist of brackets, ligature elastics and an archwire. A bracket is bonded to each tooth, and the ligature elastics hold the archwire to the brackets. Your orthodontist will adjust the wire to appropriately form your teeth. The force of this pressure will slowly shift each tooth until they reach their proper positions.
